Melbourne’s iconic Princess Theatre is regarded by many as Melbourne’s most spectacular landmark.

The theatre holds up to 1500 patrons over its three levels; Stalls, Dress Circle and Grand Circle. The original chandelier and many of the building’s bespoke interior features are still in place.

The Princess Theatre underwent a significant refurbishment in 2019 to make way for Harry Potter and the Cursed Child.

Getting Here

The Princess Theatre is located at 163 Spring Street in the Melbourne CBD and is accessible by several modes of transport.

Parliament Train station is approximately 150m from the Princess Theatre.

The closest tram stop is Nicholson Street - Stop 10 which is on Route 86 & 96. This stop is a level access stop.

Drop Off / Pick Up

The best spot for drop off and pick up is on Spring Street, directly outside the theatre. There is a 10-minute parking spot and a No Parking - 2 minutes only drop off zone.

Parking

Limited parking is available in the city. Princess Theatre patrons can receive 20% off at nearby First Parking locations, including 59 Lonsdale Street and 34–60 Little Collins Street, by registering with First Parking Express.

Arrival

Please arrive at least 30 minutes before the performance. Late arrivals may be held until a suitable break in the show to minimise disruption to other patrons.

Bag Info

Bags larger than A4 size must be cloaked before entering the auditorium. Cloakroom space is limited, so please avoid bringing bulky items where possible. For security purposes, bag checks may be conducted. Please contact us for lost property enquries.
