The landmark Regent Theatre holds a key part in our city’s history since opening as a grand picture palace in 1929.

The Regent Theatre is one of Melbourne’s most iconic venues. Having survived a fire, a flood and 20 years in darkness, the theatre was meticulously refurbished in 1996 by Marriner Theatres (now Marriner Group), returning it to its breathtaking former glory. Today the Regent Theatre stands tall on Collins Street, more lavish and grand than ever, hosting some of the world’s most renowned theatre productions and welcoming thousands of audience members through the venue every week. Getting Here

Train

Town Hall Station is approximately 50m from the Regent Theatre. The Cranbourne, Pakenham and Sunbury Line leaves from this station. Flinders Street station is approximately 350m from the Regent Theatre. All metropolitan lines except the Cranbourne, Pakenham and Sunbury Line leave from this station. Tram

The closest tram stops are Swanston Street – Stop 11 which is on Routes 1, 3, 5, 6, 16, 64, 67 & 72, and Collins Street – Stop 6 which is on routes 11, 12, 48 & 109. Both stops are level access stops.

The nearest taxi rank is available at the Westin hotel, next door to the theatre.

Drop Off / Pick Up

The best spot for drop off and pick up is along Collins Street. There is metered and timed parking available. Please note directly out the front of the Regent Theatre is a No Parking zone, that can be utilised for drop off and pick-up.

There is limited parking in the city, however patrons of the Regent Theatre can avail of preferred parking rates at some nearby Wilson Parking

Arrival

Please arrive at least 30 minutes before the performance. Late arrivals may be held until a suitable break in the show to minimise disruption to other patrons.

Bag Info

Bags larger than A4 size must be cloaked before entering the auditorium. Cloakroom space is limited, so please avoid bringing bulky items where possible. For security purposes, bag checks may be conducted. Please contact us for lost property enquries.
