COVID safe venues
We have developed our COVID Safe Plan to maximise the safety of everyone that enters our venues. The pandemic has required us to revisit how we operate at our venues to ensure a safe and comfortable environment for everyone. Things may look a little different, but we are dedicated to the following guiding principles across all of our venues
- Safety First: We are committed to maximising the safety of our venues and workplaces, and mitigate risks of community transmission for the safety and welfare of our clients, staff, guests, contractors, and all those involved with our businesses.
- Customer Service: We will continue to deliver exceptional customer service for our clients and patrons, recognising the new conditions to provide a safe experience.
- World Class Experiences: We are dedicated to delivering world class and high-quality events and entertainment in the new COVID safe environment.
If you are coming to one of our venues, we ask that you review the below useful information to keep you and others safe.
- If you are feeling unwell, please stay home.
Please do not attend the venue if you have been unwell, have recently returned from an identified red zone, have visited an exposure site, or have been advised to isolate by DHHS. Please stay home if you are showing symptoms of COVID-19, in isolation as a result of a COVID-19 diagnosis or awaiting COVID-19 test results, or are in quarantine as a returning international traveller or have been in contact with someone diagnosed with COVID-19.
- Ticket exchanges are available.
If you are unwell and cannot make it to your performance, please let us know as early as possible – no later than 10am on the day of the performance – so we can exchange your ticket into another performance. Contact your point of purchase or please visit Ticketmaster Support.
- Download the QR Code app.
The fastest way to check-in to the theatre is to download the Service Victoria app, and scan the QR code with your phone at the front of the venue.
- Arrive early.
We recommend arriving 30 mins before the performance. Check your ticket for your door number so you can make your way directly to your seat.
- Bring your mask.
You are required to wear your mask for the duration of your visit, unless you have a lawful reason not to do so.
- Undertake good hand and respiratory hygiene.
You can play a part in maintaining a COVID safe venue. Make use of the hand sanitiser that will be available throughout the venue, and sneeze or cough into your elbow.
- Practice good physical distancing.
Where it’s practical to do so, please ensure that you keep your distance when queuing and moving throughout the foyers. Signage throughout the theatre will help with guidance on other ways to protect your wellbeing.
- The cloakroom will be closed.
Please don’t bring any large personal items or bags or handbags larger than equivalent to an A4 sheet as we cannot permit them in the venue.
- We prefer contactless payments.
Bars, merchandise and programs will be available, and all accept cashless transactions.
- Make your way to your seat.
Some foyer seating will no longer be available to allow for better flowing foyers.
- In the auditorium:
The auditorium will be seated in our standard layout, so you may be seated next to other patrons. Attendance is capped at 75% capacity or as permitted by government advice at the time of the performance, with unused seats allocated to high traffic areas (per government guidance) to create buffer areas between seated patrons and those moving through the venue.
- If a performance is cancelled:
Your tickets will be transferred to a new performance and you are welcome to exchange to a different performance. For further information regarding individual show exchange or refund policies, please visit the relevant show website or contact our box office.
- We aim to provide a COVID Safe Venue.
Our comprehensive COVID Safe Plan includes control measures such as full venue cleaning before and after every performance, frequent and intensive cleaning of common high-traffic touch points (such as handrails, door handles, toilets, seat backs/armrests, and service counters), upgraded air-conditioning with 100% fresh air and filtration, and additional training for our staff.
- Please note our Conditions of Entry.
By entering the venue for a live performance, you agree to abide by our Conditions of Entry for Theatres. If you are attending an event, you agree to abide by our Conditions of Entry for Events. You are also agreeing to follow the directions of our staff and signage, and any applicable government directives.
We are closely following all Victorian Government health guidelines and will continue to update our procedures as necessary.

Thank you for your ongoing understanding and support during these times and we look forward to welcoming you back to our venues again soon.
